On Monday, the review meeting of the UNESCO General Conference Session, which took place at the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Warsaw, was attended by Counsel Svetlana Gliwinska. This event was an excellent opportunity to exchange experiences and develop international educational and cultural initiatives. The General Conference is the main decision-making body of UNESCO, which determines the strategy and the most important directions of work. The sessions are convened every two years and bring together representatives of all Member States. Samarkand, in turn, being one of the oldest cultural centres in Asia, reminds us how much we must do to ensure the durability and safety of cultural heritage. Legal regulations are not without significance in this respect. In the global context, the role of law in the protection of culture is becoming increasingly important, and our involvement in international initiatives is not only a step towards preserving the past, but also building a future in which cultural heritage will have its place.
